These are broken up by network and trailers are included if they were available. Once all of the shows have been listed, a network schedule is included so you know when to watch your favorite shows. And don’t forget to let me know what you’ll be watching!
Here is the best that CW has to offer this coming fall. You can check the other networks at the links above or on the final page of this post!
Premieres: Wednesdays at 9/8c on CW
Stars: Peyton List (Mad Men), Riley Smith (24), Mekhi Phifer (ER), Lenny Jacobson (Nurse Jackie), Anthony Ruivivar (Banshee), Devin Kelley (Resurrection), Daniel Bonjour (The Walking Dead)
Premise: Based on the film of the same name, Detective Raimy Sullivan lives her life trying to prove that she’s nothing like her father. In 1996, Frank Sullivan was working undercover for the NYPD, when he ended up getting killed. Raimy was eight years old. Flash forward 20 years, when Raimy is shocked to hear a voice come through her dad’s old ham radio. Frank is somehow able to transmit over the airwaves from back in 1996. Raimy realizes it’s her dad and tells him about his upcoming death, which allows him to avoid the attempt on his life. However, when history is changed it has a dramatic effect on Raimy’s life. Now father and daughter must find a way to fix history without risking anyone else in the process.
My Thoughts: So, here we have another TV show that’s based on a movie. I can’t speak to how good the movie is because I honestly didn’t see it, but then again, I don’t know many who did. I wonder about the longevity of this particular show. It’s a vehicle that presents as a film. Sure, daughter and dad are communicating through the ol’ HAM radio. They get to solve a case together. On its own, it’s interesting. What happens when the case is solved though? I mean do they become like the crime fighter and the sidekick, who just happens to be in the radio? I have mixed feelings about CW shows, especially ones that aren’t DC based. So, I don’t have a lot of hope here. I don’t think I’ll be watching.
Premieres: Tuesdays at 9/8c on CW
Stars: Tori Anderson (The Other Kingdom), Joshua Sasse (Galavant), Sarayu Blue (The Real O’Neals), Amy Pietz (Caroline in the City), Jesse Rath (Defiance), Jonathan Langdon (Game On)
Premise: What happens when a slightly neurotic risk-averse quality-control assessor falls in love with a possibly insane man who lives life like the apocalypse is coming (because he believes it is)? Naturally, they go on a quest to complete their apocaly-lists (bucket lists).
My Thoughts: Having two adorable people ending up as a couple definitely won’t hurt this fantasy/rom-com/sitcom. There were some pretty funny moments here and I think there is a lot of promise. Anyone that’s seen Galavant knows what Joshua Sasse can do and it looks like the rest of the cast is more than capable of matching him. This has the potential to be pretty fun. I think I’ll check it out.
Stars: Lili Reinhart (Surviving Jack), Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life with Zack and Cody), Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210), K.J. Apa (Shortland Street), Marisol Nichols (Teen Wolf), Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks)
Premise: Based on the characters from the Archie Comics – Archie, Betty, Veronica, Josie, and Jughead attempt to navigate life in Riverdale after the death of fellow high school student, Jason Blossom. The loss of Jason really affects everyone in town differently and nothing is as it once was. As the new school year begins new career aspirations will come to light, along with a healthy dose of romantic drama, and Jason’s twin will appear to be hiding something, as well.
My Thoughts: Remember that day when you discovered that the heartthrob when you were a kid is now going to play Archie’s dad in the new adaptation of the Archie comic? Yep. I’m old. I don’t usually watch anything not superhero based on CW, but this is from a comic, so I might tune in for one or two episodes to see what’s up.
