The Top 12 Freshman Premieres this Mid-Season

Your shows are on pause for the mid-season and new shows are coming out. What are you going to watch? Here are some of the newest, most interesting options being released in March and April.

Disability Dilemmas on TV: Quick to Cure on Chicago Med

I currently watch every Dick Wolf show on TV and I am here to say that it is time to add more disabled writers to the writers room because the stories focusing on disability are unrealistic, haphazard, and disappointing.

The Fall TV Lineup: NBC Edition

NBC has a full lineup of new shows coming out, including at least one new Chicago show. Of those coming out, I'm most excited about This is Us, Emerald City, and Midnight, Texas.

The Fall TV Lineup: FOX Edition

FOX has some pretty decent shows coming out this fall. Some of my favorites on my 'must watch' list include Prison Break, Pitch, and Star, though I'm seriously considering checking out Making History, too.

The Fall TV Lineup: CW Edition

CW kept almost the entire lineup they had last year, which means they only have a few new shows coming out this year. Among them are a cute fantasy rom-com, a remake, and a new take on the Archie comics gang.

The Fall TV Lineup: CBS Edition

Eight new shows will be added to the CBS lineup this fall and during the midseason. I'm ready to skip most of the comedy offerings, but they do have a few dramas that look pretty promising.

The Fall TV lineup: ABC Edition

As a television junkie, my favorite time of year is when Game of Thrones comes out. Actually, that’s kind of true…or maybe The Walking Dead…or Shameless. Well, you get the point. Really though, it’s in the fall. I love autumn leaves and pumpkin and all that jazz. I also love checking out the new TV shows, because let’s face it, I only have about 300 or so on my Netflix queue waiting for me to watc...

My Favorite Feminist Characters on TV in 2016

There are a lot of strong, feminist characters on TV right now. Honestly, there are plenty more than I've added in this list. These are some of my favorites, but make sure to let me know yours!

Creating a Female-Led Environment Doesn’t Make Your Show Feminist

Just because your show is filled with female characters or is a female driven show it doesn't make it inherently feminist. In fact sometimes, it's just the opposite.

From Bechdel & Beyond: The Film Tests You Need to Know

The purpose of tests like The Bechdel Test is not to point out whether the substance of a film is good or not, it's to point out that even with the simplest of requirements, Hollywood can still fail people in marginalized communities.

Me Before You: or If you Die, I Can Live

Me Before You is not a romantic comedy about a disabled man and his love interest, Its a case study on the dangers of gender stereotypes and a look at what happens when we make people and the things that happen to them plot devices.

Inaccurate Portrayals of Minorities Shouldn’t Exist in 2016

In 2016 there is no reason why all minorities can't be represented in film equally and with dignity. Anything less is laziness. If you can profit off these groups, you can make an effort to do better.
